Diagnosis
The main shaft seal has failed. This is a wear item. Water leaking from the pump housing drain hole indicates seal failure.
How to Fix It
The pump needs a seal kit. For the DWPW2400's AAA pump, you need to replace the entire seal plate assembly. You must drain the pump, remove the housing, and swap the old plate for a new one.
If That Didn't Work
If leaking continues after a new seal plate, the crankshaft may have scoring or corrosion that is cutting the new seal. The pump may need a full replacement.
Heads Up
This leak will not fix itself. Running the pump with a failed seal allows water into the motor bearing, causing catastrophic failure. Stop using it immediately.
