Yeah, you gotta clean it after each use, but you have to do it safe. Grass gunk promotes rust.
Here's the drill:
- Shut the mower off and wait for the blade to stop completely.
- Press the battery release and take the battery pack out. This is non-negotiable.
- Tip the mower on its side. Clean the underside of the deck with a brush or scraper to remove all the clippings and dirt.
- For the self-propel model, check the drive shaft and the motor fan for grass buildup. Remove it by hand—don't use water here.
- Wipe the whole mower down with a damp cloth.
Heads up: If you ever need to handle the blade for cleaning or sharpening, wear heavy gloves or wrap the cutting edges with rags. Those edges are sharp.
