DIAGNOSIS The unit has no internal backup battery. A complete power loss resets the volatile memory, which stores the clock and up to three custom Smart Cook programs.
FIX To reset the clock: With the unit plugged in and in standby mode, press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds. Use the dial to select the hour, press the dial to confirm. Repeat for minutes and AM/PM. To recreate a Smart Cook program: You must manually re-enter the stages. Select SMART COOK, choose a slot (1, 2, or 3), then program each stage's function, temperature, and time as before.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the unit behaves erratically after a power surge (e.g., buttons not working correctly), perform a full capacitor discharge. Unplug it, then press and hold the physical POWER button on the unit for 30 seconds. Plug it back in.
HEADS UP Consider connecting the appliance to a surge protector. Voltage spikes during power restoration can damage the control board beyond a simple reset, leading to permanent failure.
