Diagnosis
The flashing lights and beeping indicate a safety lockout. Your Ninja Air Fryer has sensors that prevent operation if the cooking components aren't correctly and securely installed. This is almost always caused by the pot or basket being misaligned, not fully seated, or having food debris obstructing proper contact.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the air fryer for 30 seconds to reset its electronic controls.
- Remove the pot and basket completely. Check for and wipe away any grease or food particles on the pot's exterior and around the basket handles.
- Place the basket firmly and squarely into the pot, ensuring the handles are aligned and it sits flat at the bottom.
- Reinsert the entire pot assembly. Push it straight back into the unit with firm pressure until you hear a definitive click and feel it lock into place. The front should be flush with the appliance body.
- Plug the unit back in, set your time and temperature, then press Start/Air Crisp. The beeping should stop and cooking will begin.
If That Didn't Work
If the issue persists, the problem might be with the basket itself. Try the "basket detection" test: insert just the empty pot (without the basket) until it clicks. If the unit starts without error, the issue is specifically with the basket seating or its handles. Ensure the basket isn't warped from overheating. Also, verify you are pressing the "Start/Air Crisp" button to begin, not just setting the time and temperature.
Heads Up
Never force the pot assembly. If it doesn't slide in smoothly, realign it. Operating the unit without the components correctly locked can cause overheating, poor cooking results, and may damage the appliance.
