Yeah, you can, but you need to install the right part. It doesn't just run open.
You have to install the side discharge chute. Find the side discharge chute (part number 4) that came with the mower.
- First, make sure the mulch plug (part number 5) is removed from the deck opening.
- Line up the chute with the opening on the right side of the mower deck.
- Push it firmly into place. It should click or snap securely. Give it a tug to confirm it's locked.
If you lost the chute, you need to get a replacement (part number 4). Running it without any chute or plug is not recommended—it throws debris uncontrollably and can damage the mower.
Heads up: The grass catcher frame (part number 6) must also be removed when using side discharge.
