Diagnosis
No. The KP125 is rated for indoor use only. It is not waterproof, weatherproof, or rated for damp/wet locations.
How to Fix It
Use an indoor outlet, or for a covered outdoor area, you must place the plug entirely inside a sealed, outdoor-rated electrical enclosure. The plug itself should never be exposed to moisture, humidity, or direct sunlight.
If That Didn't Work
If you need an outdoor smart plug, purchase the TP-Link Kasa KP400 or other model explicitly rated for outdoor use (look for an IP64 or IP65 weatherproof rating). Do not attempt to modify or seal the indoor KP125 for outdoor use.
Heads Up
Using an indoor-rated plug outdoors voids its safety certifications and creates serious risks: electric shock, short circuit, fire, and device failure. Condensation under an eave is enough to damage it.
