Dirty paper feed rollers. Perform a roller cleaning.
- Remove all paper from the front tray.
- Open the printer driver setup window on your computer.
- Go to the Maintenance tab and click Roller Cleaning.
- With the printer on, click OK to start.
- After the rollers stop, load one sheet of plain paper or a commercial cleaning sheet into the front tray as prompted and click OK. The sheet will eject, completing the cycle.
If that fails, clean the rollers directly from the printer. Power on, remove paper, open the paper output tray. Hold the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes seven times and release. Wait for rollers to stop. Close the output tray, load a single A4 or Letter plain/cleaning sheet. Open the output tray and its extension, extend the support. Hold Stop until Alarm flashes seven times again to run cleaning with paper.
If paper still doesn't feed, contact service. Cleaning wears the rollers, so only do it when needed.
