Document misfeed. Usually caused by overloaded feeder, wrinkled paper, or incorrect paper type setting.
- Do not exceed the auto document feeder capacity. Load pages face-up, top-edge first, aligned with the guide.
- Ensure all pages are flat, not curled, stapled, or torn. Remove any paper clips.
- On the printer control panel, before starting the copy, set the Document Type to match your paper—usually "Plain Paper."
If that didn't work, clean the feeder rollers. Power off, unplug. Dampen a lint-free cloth with water, wipe the rubber rollers you can see inside the feeder entrance. Let dry completely.
Heads up: The auto document feeder is for standard weight paper. It may struggle with very thin, thick, or glossy photo paper. For those, use the flatbed glass.
