Yeah, this one's common. Usually means the paper's loaded wrong or there's something stuck in the path.
First, power off the printer. Open the rear feed tray and the front cover. Carefully remove all paper. Check inside for any scraps of paper, a stray staple, or a paper clip. Grab a flashlight and look along the paper path you can see.
Reload the paper correctly. Fan the stack to prevent sticking, align it neatly against the right guide, and make sure the adjustable guide is snug but not tight. Don't overfill the tray.
If that didn't work and the noise persists, it could be a worn pickup roller. That's a serviceable part, but you'd likely need to contact Canon support for a repair.
