Diagnosis
The washer isn't reaching or maintaining a high spin speed. This is often due to an unbalanced load triggering a protective low spin, or a problem with the motor or its control.
How to Fix It
1) Check your cycle selection. Make sure you didn't accidentally choose a cycle like “Delicate” or “Hand Wash” that uses a very low spin speed. Select “Normal” or “Heavy Duty” and ensure the Spin speed is set to High or Max. 2) Always balance your load. A single heavy, water-logged item (like a rug) will prevent a proper high spin for the whole load.
If That Didn't Work
The washer might have a faulty speed sensor or a problem with the motor brushes (part of the Direct Drive motor). If you hear the motor trying to spin up but it stutters or fails, this is likely the issue.
Heads Up
Overloading is the #1 cause. If the drum is packed too full, clothes can't redistribute to balance, and the washer will refuse to spin fast. Leave room at the top.
