The "Auto-restore window layout" feature must be enabled, and the applications must be running.

  • Right-click the DDM icon in the system tray.
  • Select "Auto-restore window layout" to enable tracking.
  • Before disconnecting, manually save a layout: Right-click the DDM icon, choose "Save current window layout."
  • To restore, right-click the icon and select "Restore saved window layout."

If that didn't work: DDM does not launch applications. All applications whose positions you want saved must be open and running when you save the layout and when you attempt to restore it.

Heads up: This function works even if you use monitors with different models or resolutions. DDM recognizes the reconnected monitor and restores app positions accordingly. It can also restore layouts after replacing a monitor in a multi-monitor setup.
