DIAGNOSIS: The force sensitivity is set too low. The opener senses resistance (like a slight binding in the track) and thinks it's hitting an obstacle.
FIX: Increase the close force setting. On the motor unit, press and release the black 'Learn' button. The light will flash. Immediately press and hold the 'Learn' button again. You'll hear a beep; each subsequent beep increases the force. Let go after 2-3 beeps. Test the close operation.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The issue is mechanical, not electronic. Manually operate the door. It should lift and lower with minimal effort. If it's binding, check for bent track, worn rollers, or lack of lubrication on hinges and rollers. A stiff door will trip the safety.
HEADS UP: After adjusting force, test the safety reverse. Place a 2x4 board on the floor under the door. On close, the door must reverse on contact. If it doesn't, reduce the force setting and call a pro.
