honeywell hpa300 light is on but the fan isn't spinning, what gives?

— asked by Taylor

The control panel has power, but the fan isn't engaged. Slide the SPEED selector bar.

  • Confirm the unit is on by checking the LED in the ON-OFF button.
  • Locate the horizontal SPEED selector bar on the control panel.
  • Slide it firmly to a setting: LOW, the middle setting, or Turbo. You should hear and feel the fan engage immediately.

If that didn't work, unplug the unit for one minute. Plug it back in, press ON, and immediately select a speed. If the fan still doesn't spin, the selector bar mechanism or the fan motor may have failed.

Heads up: When first turned on, the unit defaults to LOW speed. You must manually select a higher speed if desired.
