Diagnosis
The reusable foam filter is located behind the front grille. It must be cleaned monthly for proper airflow and efficiency.
How to Fix It
Power off and unplug the unit. Locate the two plastic clips or recessed handles on the upper sides of the front panel. Pull the entire panel straight forward to detach it. The large rectangular foam filter is now exposed. Remove it by pulling up and out.
If That Didn't Work
If the panel is stuck, check for a securing screw at the very bottom center of the grille. Some models have one Phillips-head screw that must be removed first.
Heads Up
Clean the filter with warm water and mild detergent only. Do not wring it out. Gently press out water and let it air dry COMPLETELY before reinstallation. A damp filter can cause mold growth and reduced performance.
