my waykar 80 pint dehumidifier is just beeping nonstop and won't turn on, what is happening?

— asked by Taylor

Quick answer: The continuous beep indicates a full water tank or a faulty tank sensor. The unit will not operate until the tank is emptied or the sensor is reset.

Diagnosis

The continuous beep indicates a full water tank or a faulty tank sensor. The unit will not operate until the tank is emptied or the sensor is reset.

How to Fix It

Power off and unplug the unit. Remove the water collection bucket. Check the bucket for any debris obstructing the float. Reinstall the bucket firmly until you hear a click. Check the red float switch on the side of the bucket slot; ensure it moves freely up and down. Plug the unit back in.

If That Didn't Work

The internal bucket position sensor may be stuck or faulty. With the unit unplugged, locate the small plastic sensor tab inside the bucket slot. Use a cotton swab to gently clean around it. Manually depress and release the sensor a few times to check for smooth movement.

Heads Up

The unit will also beep and shut off if the bucket is not seated perfectly level. After reinserting, rock the bucket slightly side-to-side to ensure full contact with the base sensor.
