Diagnosis
The compressor is in a protective delay cycle (3-5 minutes) or has tripped on overload due to low voltage or high ambient temperature.
How to Fix It
Unplug the unit. Wait 10 minutes for the compressor overload protector to reset. Ensure the unit is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not an extension cord or power strip. Verify outlet voltage is between 108V-132V.
If That Didn't Work
Check the ambient temperature. If the room is below 41°F (5°C), the compressor will not engage as a safety feature. The unit may also refuse to start if the room is above 95°F (35°C).
Heads Up
After a power outage or being unplugged, the compressor has a built-in 3-minute delay before starting. This is normal. Listen for a distinct 'click' followed by a deeper hum after the delay period.
