Mineral buildup and old coffee oils cause odor. Perform a cleaning cycle with white vinegar.

1. Fill the reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and cold water to the 6-cup mark.
2. Place an empty filter in the basket.
3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
4. Start a full brew cycle. Halfway through, pause and let the vinegar solution sit in the system for 30 minutes.
5. Resume and complete the cycle. Discard the vinegar water.
6. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh cold water only to rinse.

Repeat monthly if you have hard water or use daily.
