how do i know when my sonicare 4100 is actually fully charged? the light just stays on

— asked by Riley

Quick answer: You are observing the standard charging indicator behavior. The light patterns are specific and indicate charge status.

Diagnosis

You are observing the standard charging indicator behavior. The light patterns are specific and indicate charge status.

How to Fix It

Understand the light codes.
- Flashing white light: Actively charging.
- Solid white light: Fully charged.
- Slow flashing amber light: Battery is critically low.
- Fast flashing amber light: Charging error or incompatible charger.

If That Didn't Work

If the light remains solid white but runtime is very short (under 5 minutes), the battery may be degraded. Perform a discharge test. Use the brush from a solid white light until it dies. A healthy battery provides approximately 2 weeks of use (twice daily, 2 minutes).

Heads Up

The first full charge out of the box takes 24 hours. Subsequent charges require less time. Leaving it on the charger indefinitely does not harm the battery.
