You have three main methods: via the EpsonScan 2 software, using the TWAIN/WIA driver, or with the Epson Smart Panel App.
- Via Computer (Easiest): Install the included EpsonScan 2 software from the CD-ROM or download it. Place your document on the flatbed scanner (max size 8.5" x 11.7"). Open the software and follow the prompts. It supports scanning to PDF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and BMP.
- Via Windows/Mac: You can also use the built-in TWAIN (Windows) or ICA (Mac) compatibility. Open a program like Windows Fax and Scan or Preview (Mac), and select the Epson ET-2800 as your scanner source.
- Via App: Use the Epson Smart Panel App on your iOS or Android device. Select 'Scan' and follow the on-screen instructions. This requires the printer to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
If that didn't work: Ensure the scanner driver is installed. The software is included on the CD-ROM. Also, check that the scanner glass is clean and the document is placed correctly face-down.
Heads up: The scanner has an optical resolution of 1200 dpi and a max hardware resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi. For most documents, 300 dpi is sufficient. Higher resolutions create much larger files.
