Diagnosis
The laminate surface is porous and can absorb oils or dyes from common cleaners or spills.
How to Fix It
Use only a damp microfiber cloth with a drop of mild dish soap. Wipe in the direction of the grain. For stubborn stains, use a paste of baking soda and water. Gently rub with the cloth, then wipe clean with water. Dry immediately.
If That Didn't Work
For permanent marker or deep-set ink, try a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol (70%) on a cotton swab. Test in an inconspicuous corner first. Wipe with water immediately after.
Heads Up
Never use abrasive pads, magic erasers, or all-purpose cleaners like Windex or 409. They will permanently dull and damage the laminate finish.
