This debris acts as a conductor or a barrier, causing the print head to either over-heat a specific strip of the paper (creating a black line) or fail to make contact with the paper entirely (creating a white streak). You can confirm this is the issue if the line always appears in the exact same horizontal position regardless of what you are printing. If the line is jagged or moves, it is likely a roller issue, but a straight, consistent line is almost always a dirty print head.

How to Fix It

To restore print quality, you must chemically remove the adhesive buildup from the heating element. Follow these exact steps:

1. Power down the printer completely and unplug the power cable from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical shorts or accidental burns.
2. Open the top cover and remove the label roll entirely to expose the internal mechanism.
