Diagnosis
On this model, an E3 error typically points to a problem with the oven temperature sensor (it's reading a temperature that's too high or too low). An E4 error often relates to a communication fault with the touch control panel.
How to Fix It
For E3: 1) Unplug the oven and let it cool completely to room temperature. 2) Plug it back in and try starting a simple bake function at 350°F without any food inside. If the error returns immediately, the sensor or its wiring is likely faulty. For E4: Perform a full power reset by unplugging the unit from the wall for five minutes, then plug it back in. This often clears temporary communication glitches.
If That Didn't Work
These error codes usually indicate a component failure that isn't user-serviceable. If the reset doesn't clear them, the internal temperature sensor (for E3) or the main control board (for E4) likely needs to be replaced. You'll need to contact Emeril Customer Service for troubleshooting and potential warranty service.
Heads Up
Before you call for service, make absolutely sure your outlet is providing stable power. Try plugging the oven into a different, dedicated kitchen outlet. A weak or fluctuating power supply can sometimes trigger these sensor and communication errors.
