Another common cause is a tripped GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet. Since ice makers are used near water, they are frequently plugged into GFCI outlets (the ones with the 'Reset' and 'Test' buttons). If the outlet has tripped, the machine will receive zero voltage, making it appear as though the internal electronics are fried when the issue is actually the wall power. Finally, some batches of these units have a sensitivity issue where the power button requires a firm, sustained press (2-3 seconds) rather than a quick tap to wake the control board from its factory standby mode.
How to Fix It
