If the unit is truly dead, the problem is likely one of three things: a tripped GFCI outlet (common in kitchens), a faulty power cord, or a blown internal thermal fuse. To confirm if the unit is receiving power, check if the power cord feels warm to the touch after being plugged in for ten minutes; if it is cold and the outlet is live, the break is internal. If you are using a surge protector or extension cord, these often fail to provide the specific peak amperage required for the compressor to kick start, leading to a "dead" appearance.
How to Fix It
Follow these precise steps to restore power to your Della unit:
- Isolate the Power Source: Unplug the ice maker from any power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords. Plug the unit directly into a known-working wall outlet.
