Use the physical reset button on the node. Warning: This erases all settings—Wi-Fi name, passwords, everything. All devices disconnect.
Procedure:
- Ensure the node is powered on.
- Locate the Reset button on the bottom of the node.
- Press and hold the button.
- Observe the light on top. It will turn red and fade in pulses.
- Continue holding. Do not release until the light goes out and then turns bright red.
- Release the button. The node will restart with factory defaults.
Post-reset status: The node's light will show solid purple, indicating it is ready for setup. You must use the Linksys app to set it up again as if it were new.
If that didn't work, ensure you are holding the button long enough. The sequence (red pulsing -> off -> bright red) takes approximately 10 seconds. If the light does not follow this sequence, power cycle the node (use the power switch on the bottom) and try the reset procedure again.
Heads up: A factory reset is a last resort. For less disruptive troubleshooting, try power cycling your modem and nodes first.
