how do i safely remove a usb drive from my linksys velop?

— asked by Nina

You must eject it through the app first to avoid data loss. Don't just pull it out.

Here's the safe way:

  1. Open your Linksys app.
  2. Go to the External Storage section.
  3. You'll see which node the drive is connected to and the free space.
  4. Tap the Eject option for that drive.
  5. Wait for confirmation that it's safe to remove.
  6. Now you can physically unplug the USB drive from the node's USB 3.0 port.

Heads up: The USB port is for file sharing only—it doesn't support media servers or FTP. Also, you can set a username and password for the drive in the External Storage section to enable authentication.
