A blinking purple light means setup is in progress but has stalled. This usually happens if the app lost connection during the process or if there's an issue with the modem link.
Let's start over carefully:
- Turn off the Velop node using the power switch on the bottom. Also, unplug your modem from power for 30 seconds.
- Plug your modem back in. Wait for all its lights to show it's fully online (this can take 2-3 minutes).
- Check your physical connections. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the Velop's yellow Internet port directly to a port on your modem. Use a CAT5e or better cable.
- Turn the Velop's power switch back on. The light will start blinking blue, then likely go to blinking purple as it tries setup again.
- Now, go back to the Linksys app. If it's stuck, force-close the app and reopen it. It should detect the node in setup mode and guide you through.
If that didn't work, during setup, the app sends a verification email to the account you used. You must be on your home network and click the link in that email to complete the process. Check your spam folder.
As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset using the button on the bottom, then start the app setup process from scratch with a fully booted modem.
