i replaced the filter but the unit still says ‘check filter’ on the display, did i install it wrong?

Quick answer: The filter RFID chip is not being read. This can be due to incorrect installation, a faulty chip, or a dirty reader.

Diagnosis

The filter RFID chip is not being read. This can be due to incorrect installation, a faulty chip, or a dirty reader.

How to Fix It

Power off the unit. Remove the front cover and take out the new PECO-Filter. Reinsert it, ensuring the side with the Molekule logo faces the front. Push firmly until the filter clicks fully into place against the back wall. Replace the cover and power on.

If That Didn't Work

The RFID contacts inside the unit may be obstructed. With the unit unplugged, use a dry cotton swab to gently clean the two small metal pins inside the filter compartment.

Heads Up

Only use official Molekule PECO-Filters. Third-party filters lack the correct RFID chip and will cause this error permanently.
