Diagnosis
Your primary concern is preventing liquid from seeping into the monitor's internal components through ventilation slots, ports, or the seam between the panel and the bezel. Even a small spill near the stand can travel via capillary action or surface tension. The immediate risk is a short circuit, which can cause permanent damage.
How to Fix It
- Immediately power off the monitor using the physical button and unplug its power cord from the wall outlet and the monitor.
- Unplug all other cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) from the monitor.
- Using a clean, lint-free, dry microfiber cloth, gently wipe all exterior surfaces, paying special attention to the stand base, neck, and the area where the stand connects to the monitor housing.
- Tilt the monitor gently in different directions while wiping to check for and remove any moisture that may have pooled.
- Allow the monitor to air-dry in a well-ventilated area for at least 2-3 hours before attempting to reconnect power.
If That Didn't Work
If you notice any flickering, distorted image, dark spots, or failure to power on after reconnection, liquid likely entered the housing. Do not attempt to open the monitor yourself. Your only safe course of action is to disconnect all power again and contact Philips support or an authorized service center for a professional inspection. Do not use the monitor in this state, as it risks further damage.

Never use a hairdryer or place the monitor near a direct heat source to speed up drying, as this can warp components or drive moisture deeper inside. Always disconnect power first before cleaning any electronic device.
