How to Fix It
To resolve this and reset the mechanical alignment of the auger, follow these precise steps:

- Remove the ice basket and dump all remaining ice.
- Perform a "Deep Thermal Reset": Leave the machine unplugged and the lid open for a minimum of 8 to 12 hours. This ensures that any "ice bridges" (hidden ice blocks behind the evaporator rods) are completely melted.

- Inspect the Gear Drive: If the noise persists after a full thaw, the internal plastic drive gear may have developed a flat spot or a crack. While these are not user-serviceable without voiding the warranty, you can try tilting the machine 45 degrees while off to see if any loose plastic fragments rattle inside the chassis.
