Diagnosis
The unit is overheating and the thermal protection circuit is cutting power. This is usually caused by a clogged air vent or a failing fan.
How to Fix It
Unplug and let it cool. Inspect all vents on the base—especially the small grille on the side or bottom. Use compressed air to blow out any dust or lint blocking airflow. Ensure you're using it on a hard, flat surface, not a towel or fabric.
If That Didn't Work
The internal cooling fan may have failed. You might hear a faint buzzing if you put your ear near the base when it's on. A dead fan means no airflow over the control board, causing rapid overheating. This requires internal repair.
Heads Up
This intermittent shutdown is a critical safety feature. Do not bypass it by covering vents or using it in an enclosed space. Persistent overheating can damage the circuit board permanently.
