DIAGNOSIS Low production almost always points to one of two things: the ambient room temperature is too warm, or the machine's condenser is choked with dust and pet hair.
FIX First, check the environment. This machine works best in a room under 80°F. If it's in a hot garage or next to an oven, it will struggle. Move it if you can. Next, do the "blow test." Unplug the machine and pull it away from the wall. Look at the grille on the back. If you can't see light through the vents, it's clogged. Use a vacuum cleaner hose or a can of compressed air to thoroughly blow out all the dust from the back. This is the single biggest performance fix for slow ice makers.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check your water source. If the water pressure from your tank to the machine is too low (maybe from a kinked hose or a nearly empty tank), the freezing cycle can't work efficiently. Also, ensure the drain tray is perfectly level and seated. If it's tilted or over-full, the machine will pause production.
HEADS UP This isn't a commercial machine. Under ideal conditions, it makes about 1 pound of ice every 6-8 hours. If you're constantly emptying the bin, it can't keep up. For parties, start building your stash in the freezer a day ahead.
