Diagnosis
The washer is stuck in a continuous agitation phase and will not advance to spin. This is often caused by a failed lid lock switch or a faulty signal from it. The control board will not engage spin until it receives a confirmed "lid locked" signal.
How to Fix It
Listen for a distinct "click" sound when you close the lid. If you don't hear it, the lid lock mechanism (part WH49X10019) may have failed. Unplug the washer. Test the lid lock by manually activating the strike (the plastic piece on the lid) and checking for continuity with a multimeter. No continuity means a failed switch.
If That Didn't Work
The problem could be the main control board not sending the correct signal to the motor or transmission. Check for any other error codes on the display. A failed motor control circuit or transmission will also prevent the spin cycle.
Heads Up
Never attempt to bypass the lid lock switch. The spin cycle is a safety hazard if the lid can be opened. The lid lock is a single, sealed unit. Order the exact part number for your model.
