lattissima one coffee comes out lukewarm, not hot, even on the highest temperature setting

— asked by Riley

DIAGNOSIS The machine's thermoblock is either heavily scaled, which insulates the heating element, or the initial rinse cycle is cooling the pathway. Verify the temperature setting is on 'High'.

FIX Ensure the machine is on the high temperature setting. Press and hold the Espresso button for 3 seconds. The temperature light will cycle. Stop when the 'High' light is illuminated. Then, always pre-heat the system. Run a water-only cycle (no capsule) into your cup first. Discard that water. Immediately brew your coffee into the pre-warmed cup.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Significant limescale buildup is the cause. Perform a full descaling procedure. Scale acts as an insulator, preventing the thermoblock from transferring heat efficiently to the water.

HEADS UP The cup warming function on top of the machine is mild. For optimal temperature, always pre-heat your cup with hot water or on a separate warmer. Porcelain cups lose heat fastest.
