Diagnosis
A solid red status light typically means a power problem. The camera isn't getting enough consistent juice, so it can't boot up properly. It's not bricked, it's just starved.
How to Fix It
Let's check the power supply. 1) Unplug the power adapter from the wall and from the camera's cable. 2) Inspect the cable for any kinks, cuts, or chew marks (if it's run outside). 3) Firmly reconnect everything. Use the original Lorex power adapter that came in the box—a generic USB charger often doesn't provide enough stable power. Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord, for testing.
If That Didn't Work
The issue might be internal. Try a hard reset. Locate the reset button (usually a tiny pinhole on the underside or near the cable port). With the camera powered on, use a paperclip to press and hold that button for about 15-20 seconds until you hear a voice prompt or see the light change. This will reboot the system.
Heads Up
If you're using a long aftermarket extension cable, the voltage drop over that distance can cause this. For permanent installs, you need a proper outdoor-rated, high-gauge cable.
