Diagnosis
The spotlight is a separate function from the night vision IR and often has its own toggle in the settings that might be disabled. It won't activate if it's turned off in the app or if the camera thinks it's daytime.
How to Fix It
First, let's check the basic switch. In the Lorex app, go to your camera's settings and find "Spotlight" or "Deterrence Light." Make sure the toggle is set to "On" or "Auto." While you're there, check the schedule—it might be set to only turn on during specific hours that don't match your current time. Also, ensure the camera's night vision is actually activating; the spotlight typically only works in night mode.
If That Didn't Work
There's a physical test. In the app, find the camera controls. There should be a manual light icon or a "Trigger Deterrence" button. Tap it. If the spotlight turns on manually, then the hardware works and the issue is with the automatic motion trigger settings. If it doesn't turn on manually, there may be a hardware fault with the LED unit itself.
Heads Up
The spotlight has a slight delay. It won't flash on the instant motion is detected; it usually waits a second to confirm the target, so don't expect instant-on like a motion-activated porch light.
