machine says it's connected in the app but i can't update the firmware, it just fails.

DIAGNOSIS The Bluetooth connection is unstable or the machine's memory is corrupted. The Vertuo Next requires a firmware update for full functionality, and failures are common.

FIX First, delete the machine from your Nespresso app. Perform a factory reset on the machine: press the brew button seven times within five seconds. The light will blink white and then settle. Re-pair the machine via the app. Ensure your phone is within 3 feet. Connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz. Attempt the update again with the machine plugged in and idle.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module may be faulty. Bypass the app. Manual brewing is always available. For smart features, try using a different mobile device as a hotspot to rule out network issues.

HEADS UP Do not unplug the machine during a firmware update. A failed update can brick the machine's control board, requiring replacement.
