my APEC ROES-50 is barely trickling water, takes forever to fill a glass. what's wrong?

Slow output is almost always a pressure or filter issue.

Diagnosis: Check these in order of likelihood.

  • Low feed water pressure from your house supply.
  • Clogged pre-filters or membrane needing replacement.
  • Restricted flow due to a kinked or pinched 1/4" tubing line.

Fix:

  1. Verify your home's incoming water pressure is within the system's operating range. The unit requires adequate pressure to function.
  2. Inspect all tubing from the feed connection to the faucet for kinks, especially behind the unit and under the sink.
  3. Confirm the storage tank has pressure. If empty, the system may be in shut-off mode due to low input pressure.

If that didn't work: The pre-filters or the RO membrane are likely exhausted and need replacement. A severely clogged filter will drastically reduce flow.

Heads up: Do not install the unit where it will be exposed to temperatures below 40°F or above 100°F, or in direct sunlight. Temperature extremes affect performance.
