how do i know if i put the filters in right on my aquasana? it doesn't feel secure

DIAGNOSIS: They're not locked. Proper installation requires alignment and a tactile click.

FIX: Re-seat them correctly.

  1. Remove the filter housing by turning it to the left and pulling straight down. Do not angle it.
  2. Before reattaching, check the arrow on the top cap of the filter. It must line up with the center tick mark on the system manifold.
  3. Push the housing up onto the manifold while turning it to the right.
  4. Continue turning until you feel a distinct 'click'. This is the lock engaging.
  5. Ensure the housing is not on an angle. It must sit flush and straight.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If you cannot achieve the click, inspect the o-ring on the housing for damage or misalignment. A damaged o-ring can prevent proper seating. Gently reposition it if it's out of place.

HEADS UP: Incorrect placement, especially at an angle, will damage the o-ring and cause leaks. All housings must be locked in place as indicated by their color-coded positions on the system, such as Red for the first filter and Yellow for the second on an AQ-6200.
