DIAGNOSIS The monitor is powered but not receiving a valid video signal from your laptop. The most common cause is the USB-C port not being set to the correct DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
FIX First, check the physical connection and the monitor's input source.
- Ensure the USB-C cable is fully seated at both ends. Use the cable that came with the monitor or a certified high-quality USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 cable that supports DisplayPort.
- Press the monitor's joystick button to open the OSD. Navigate to Input and confirm USB-C is selected.
- On your MacBook, go to System Settings > Displays. Check if the BenQ monitor is detected. If not, restart your Mac with the monitor connected.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The USB-C port on the monitor might need a power cycle to reset the handshake. Unplug the monitor from the wall outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and reconnect the USB-C cable.
HEADS UP This monitor's USB-C port provides 60W PD (Power Delivery). If your laptop requires more than 60W to charge (like some 16-inch MacBook Pros under heavy load), it may charge slowly or not at all, but this shouldn't affect the video signal.
