DIAGNOSIS Complete power failure indicates a break in the electrical circuit. The primary suspects are the thermal fuse on the heating element or the main power board fuse.
FIX Confirm the power cord is fully seated. Unplug the unit. Turn it over. Locate the user-serviceable fuse compartment on the bottom near the power cord entry. Open it with a small screwdriver. Inspect the 5A, 125V glass fuse. If the metal filament inside is broken, replace it with an identical fuse. Plug the unit back in.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If a new fuse blows immediately or the unit remains dead, the internal thermal fuse on the heating element housing has likely failed. This is a safety device that trips if the boiler overheats. Replacing it requires disassembling the unit and is not a user-serviceable part.
