my cuisinart duet blender base just flashes all the lights and beeps, won't do anything at all, what's wrong?

— asked by Alex

Quick answer: The base has lost its programmed settings. This happens after a power surge or unplugging the unit for a long time.

Diagnosis

The base has lost its programmed settings. This happens after a power surge or unplugging the unit for a long time. It's a memory reset fault.

How to Fix It

Unplug the base from the wall outlet. Wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in. The lights will flash in sequence. Immediately press and hold the 'Clean' button for 5 seconds. The flashing should stop. The base is now reset.

If That Didn't Work

The main control board might have a deeper fault. Check the power cord connection at the back of the base. If it's loose, push it in firmly until it clicks. Try a different, grounded wall outlet.

Heads Up

Do not try to use the blender while it's flashing. It will not engage the motor and you could overheat the control board.
