Diagnosis
It's hitting its internal condensate (water) tank full safety cutoff. These units auto-shutoff to prevent overflow when the internal bucket fills, especially in very humid conditions.
How to Fix It
You must manually drain the internal tank.
- Unplug the unit.
- Locate the rubber drain plug on the back-bottom of the unit.
- Place a shallow pan under it, pull the plug, and let it drain completely. This can take several minutes.
- Re-insert the plug firmly, plug the unit back in, and it should restart normally.
If That Didn't Work
The unit might be overheating due to a clogged exhaust hose or blocked air intake. Check that the hose is fully extended, not kinked, and that both the unit and window vent kit have at least 20 inches of clear space around them.
Heads Up
If you're constantly having to drain it, you're likely in a high-humidity environment. Consider using the continuous drain hose option (a separate accessory) to pipe water directly to a floor drain.
