A paired door/window SmartSensor is likely reporting an "open" state, triggering the Pause When Open eco+ feature.
- Check the notification on your ecobee app. It will specify which sensor triggered the pause.
- Physically inspect that sensor and its door/window. Ensure it's mounted securely and closed completely.
- If the sensor is faulty or you want to exclude it, go to your eco+ settings. You can select which sensors participate in Pause When Open. Unselect the problematic sensor.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The feature requires a constant internet connection to engage. If your thermostat lost and regained internet, it may have triggered a pause retroactively. A system reboot can clear this state.
HEADS UP: This feature is only for Smart Security subscribers with door/window SmartSensors. It activates 5 minutes after an opening and resumes 30 seconds after closing. You can override any pause by tapping the eco+ icon on the thermostat or app.
