Yes, that's short cycling. The system's differential setting is too narrow, causing it to satisfy the temperature too quickly and turn off, only to restart minutes later.
Increase the heat differential temperature. This setting determines how far the temperature must drop below the setpoint before the system turns back on. A larger differential reduces cycles.
- Go to MAIN MENU > SETTINGS > INSTALLATION SETTINGS > THRESHOLDS > HEAT DIFFERENTIAL TEMP (for heating) or COOL DIFFERENTIAL TEMP (for cooling).
- Increase the value. Start with a 0.5°F to 1.0°F increase and observe.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If you have SmartSensors paired, the 'Follow Me' feature could be causing rapid setpoint changes as you move. Disable Follow Me temporarily to test. Also, check for drafts or a sensor placed near a vent causing rapid temperature swings.
