my elite gourmet coffee maker won't turn on, just got it out of the box

First, make sure you've removed all the packaging materials and any stickers. Plug it directly into a wall outlet—don't use an extension cord or power strip for the first use. It is best to run it on a separate outlet and circuit from other appliances. If it still doesn't power on, check that the plug is fully inserted into the outlet.
