DIAGNOSIS The three flashing dashes are the unit's default error code for a communication failure. This occurs when the control board loses its connection with the user interface or a key component.
FIX Perform a full power cycle. Unplug the coffee maker from the wall outlet. Wait for at least 60 seconds. While it is unplugged, press and hold the 'Power' button on the front for 10 seconds to discharge any residual power. Plug the unit directly back into the wall outlet. The display should reset and show the clock.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the error persists, the internal fuse may have blown. Unplug the unit. Locate the fuse holder on the bottom of the unit near the power cord entry. Use a small flathead screwdriver to open the fuse compartment. Check the 5A, 125V fuse for a broken filament. Replace it with an identical 5A, 125V glass fuse if necessary.
HEADS UP Do not attempt to brew while this error is displayed. The water pump and heating element are disabled by the system to prevent damage from an unknown sensor state.
