Diagnosis
This is a security issue called 'ghost operation'. The most common cause is a shorted wire on the wall control panel terminals, or interference from a neighboring opener on the same radio frequency.
How to Fix It
First, check the wired wall control panel. Make sure the wires connecting it to the motor unit are secure and not pinched or frayed. If they look good, disconnect the wall control panel entirely (unscrew the wires from terminals 1 and 2 on the back of the motor unit). If the ghost openings stop, the fault is in that wall control unit or its wiring.
If That Didn't Work
The Atoms might be on a crowded radio channel. To change its frequency, press and hold the orange 'Learn' button on the motor unit for about 10 seconds until the light blinks. This makes it 'forget' all remotes and keypads and pick a new frequency. You'll then need to re-pair all your remotes and keypads one by one.
Heads Up
Don't ignore this. While you're troubleshooting, unplug the opener or use disconnect cord to keep the door locked down, especially overnight. Also, check if any neighbors recently installed a new opener—their signal could be colliding with yours.
