Diagnosis
The loud noise is almost always caused by a foreign object interfering with the fan or a loose internal component. The most common cause is a small object (like a toy, paperclip, or large debris) lodged in the intake grill or against the fan blade.
How to Fix It
Power off and unplug the unit. Remove the front grill and the True HEPA filter. Visually inspect the circular fan blade for any obstructions. Use a flashlight to look through the intake slots for debris. Remove any foreign objects. Reassemble the filters and grill, ensuring they are seated flat and secure.
If That Didn't Work
The noise may be internal mechanical failure. Listen closely. A high-pitched buzz often points to the fan motor bearings. A lower rattle could be a loose internal bracket or a damaged fan blade. For these issues, contact Guardian Technologies customer support for repair or replacement under warranty.
Heads Up
Do not operate the unit with a persistent rattling noise. It can cause further damage to the fan motor or imbalance the blade, leading to complete failure.
