DIAGNOSIS The monitor is receiving a basic video signal, but the full data connection for advanced features like HDR and proper color depth is not active. This happens when connected via HDMI without the USB-C power/data link, or with a limited USB-C connection.
FIX For full functionality, use a USB-C to USB-C connection from a compatible laptop port. Ensure the cable supports both video and data. If using HDMI, you must also connect a USB-C cable from the monitor to your computer for the full data link. The HDR option will ungrey once the proper connection is established.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check your computer's display settings. On Windows, navigate to Settings > System > Display. Select the KYY monitor. Under 'Display resolution', ensure the recommended 1920x1080 is selected. Under 'HDR', toggle it on if available.
HEADS UP The HDR on this monitor is a basic implementation (HDR10). Do not expect dramatic HDR performance. The 'washed out' look is often due to Windows handling HDR poorly in SDR applications. Toggle HDR off in Windows settings if general desktop use looks better without it.
